There is good news and bad news with the recent Supreme Court decision upholding the Obamacare subsidies.

The good news is that millions will continue to have health insurance. This is a basic right in all the advanced nations.

The bad news is

  • we still don’t cover everyone (around 13% or 43 million)

  • rising premiums, copays and deductibles will make much insurance unusable.

  • Over the years the subsidies are going to be paid for with trillions of dollars of borrowed money. As our national debt piles up, nobody knows where “the last straw that breaks the camels back” is. We are heading for that last straw.

  • The insurance companies will continue to soak up and cause $200-350 billion per year in waste.

  • The big corporations will continue to control our government with campaign contributions, “speaker fees” and lobbyists. The healthcare plunder of the American people will continue with few realizing how it is causing our standard of living to drop.

The Republicans want to repeal the Obamacare monstrosity, but have no realistic alternative that will provide universal healthcare for all.

We must get a medicare-for-all single payer that has

  • one payer

  • one set of forms and rules for efficiency

  • one non-profit method of payment.

It is a must if we are to avoid healthcare and economic disaster. It works in Canada, France, Italy, Japan and others.
Bernie Sanders is the only true presidential leader who is for this.
